News release from Pike County Iron Horse

The Pike County Iron Horse is a minor league football team that will begin playing home games in Pike County Mississippi starting May 2010. The Iron Horses will be playing a 10 game regular season schedule with 5 home games and 5 away games with a chance to go to playoffs and a Championship Game in Florida.

Our games are throughout the Southeastern USA. The Iron Horse Team is a member of The Premier South Football League (PFSL).

Local TNT Bombettes Perform During Halftime for New Orleans Saints

TNT Youth Football and Cheerleader League closed the 2009 Season with a Bang. Ten of the TNT Bombettes performed during the Halftime Show with the New Orleans Saintsations at the last home game before the playoffs.

The Bombettes, local cheerleaders, were also featured during the game on one of the halftime commercials. The Saints are headed to the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 7th, where they will play the Indiapolis Colts for the title. They defeated the Minnesota Vikings in an overtime thriller 31-28 to win the NFC Championship for the first time in franchise history.

According to news reports, Woods has checked into a sex rehab facility in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Meet and greet: New McComb High football coach

A crowd of people turned out to meet the new McComb High School Head Football Coach, Malcolm Jones and his coaching staff last night at the Tiger Activity Complex in McComb. Jones was presented by McComb School District Athletic Director, Samuel West during its �Meet and Greet� event. He is the first African American head football coach in the history of the school district.

He was joined by his coaching staff: Dedrick Johnson, Damon Felder, Antonio Wright, Brook Burns, Ronald Reed, and Thomas Jackson.

Excitement was truly in the air as the TNT Bombettes scuffled to change clothes and rehearse for their Grand Performance on Saturday, July 18, 2009. As the Bombettes practiced their cheers and chants, in walked 5 of the New Orleans Saintsations.

Higgins Middle School Gymnasium in McComb echoed with screams and yells as the New Orleans Saintsations (Ariel, Aimee, Jessica, Alexis and Zeraleigh) were introduced.

McComb High School Boys Track Team 2nd in the nation

The McComb High School�s boys 4 x 100m relay team consisting of Lamarvin Ashley, Mario Smith, Turon Robinson and DeMarus Jenkins posted the best times in Mississippi and among the best nationally throughout the season. Knowing that they could run with anyone in the nation, they set their sights on the Nike Outdoor Nationals held each June in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Amite County High School earns cheer awards

Amite County Varsity Cheerleaders recently attended the Universal Cheerleaders� Association Camp in Magnolia where the team received 3 blue ribbons, third place trophy in the game day cheer, first place in the Extreme Routine competition, first place trophy in the Home Dance Event, and the Leadership Award.
